Overview
SAM is a system designed to manage a school's information in a centralized, integrated manner. SAM makes tedious, time-consuming tasks much easier. SAM can be as basic as a single-user database or can support up to 250 simultaneous users with varying data access privileges. Your school’s existing spreadsheets, contact lists, and other data files can usually be imported into SAM via a simple user utility. Likewise, SAM data can be exported in various, common file formats as needed.
How SAM Manages Information
SAM integrates your school’s information via the following modules:
CONTACTS – The families, guardians, friends, and donors so important to supporting your school and students.
STUDENTS – Links student data to parent/guardian information, shows which class they attend, cumulative record, field trip forms, and emergency/medical information.
CLASSES – Simplifies tracking many tedious tasks such as monitoring enrollment levels in each class, who’s wait-listed, class location, etc.
TEACHERS – Relates teacher information to classes, tracks start dates, contact information, etc.
PLEDGES – Monitors pledge status for your school’s supporters. Provides a means for billing and invoice generation.
DONATIONS – Tracks donations from your supporters whether it’s auction items, monetary contributions, etc. Reconciles donations to pledges.
EVENTS – Manage fundraising events such as auctions; provides start-to-finish support ranging from tracking item donations, to bidder tracking, to catalog printing, all the way to receipt printouts in real time.
MAILINGS – Tracks who received what mailings, thank-you letter status; generates mailing labels, name tags, all the tedious, time consuming tasks so frequently needed.
More About SAM
SAM works on both PC’s and Macs simultaneously. It’s built on a tried-and-proven database application. If technical support is ever needed, it can be supported in-house or by a nationwide network of consultants. SAM was developed by Genwest Systems personnel working closely with a development director from a local private school. It’s a tool built to meet the day-to-day needs of a private, self-funded educational organization working within the challenges of limited administrative support and funding.
Availability
Final testing and documentation is almost complete. SAM is scheduled to be available starting Dec. 15, 2008. (revised from Dec. 1)
There will be 3 configuration options (each available for PC or Mac):
1. A single-user, runtime version which requires no other supporting software.
2. A limited end-user customizable version for use in a single user or, multi-user peer-to-peer or server-based environment.
3. A unlimited end-user customizable version for use in a single user or, multi-user peer-to-peer or server-based environment.
