Genwest ICS training will cover a brief history of the ICS and why it is the emergency management system of choice, the ICS process (including table-top exercises and mock ICS meetings where students apply what they learn), ICS terminology, and how to make the ICS forms work for you.

Information Flow

We believe the key to the effective use of the ICS is information flow. Emphasis will be given on how information flows through the ICS in a concrete and practical manner.

Before Training

• Genwest ICS trainers conduct a pre-training meeting to determine any specific training needs or emphases.
• If an ICS exercise is in the near future, we will conduct our training so as to maximize your success at the drill.

The Classes

• Classes will be in discussion format, with lecture periods kept to a minimum.
• We encourage class participation.
• We conduct ICS "walk-throughs" so that students actually perform the role they might be expected to in a drill or actual event.
