The US Coast Guard’s Preparedness Standards and Measurement (PSAM) System is a Microsoft Access database designed to assess government and industry levels of preparation for spill responses at a regional level.  As a part of a GSA purchase order, Genwest recently completed extensive updates to this system to refresh the Access user interface, update its calculations, and add functionality regarding the use of dispersants in oil spill response.  Genwest was also responsible for researching all of the system’s algorithms and preparing a complete user manual.

The completion of the PSAM System project utilized many of Genwest’s in-house skills, including: project management; oil spill response planning; database design and management; and technical writing.
