Small Laptops, Smaller Cost

by admin last modified 2008-06-16 11:04

Laptops that are small in size and price enter the market.

Good news to people who wear themselves out hauling large laptops to spills and incidents: Laptop makers ASUS and HP have introduced the ultra-portable and ultra-inexpensive laptops Eee PC and VIA C7-M ULV, respectively. Each weigh in at under 3 lbs. and each have a length and width smaller than a standard sheet of paper.
The Eee PC from ASUS is the least expensive of the two, coming in at under $400, but comes loaded with Linux and has a total of 4GB solid-state storage (external storage is recommended).
The VIA C7-M ULV is more expensive, being under $650, but comes armed with Windows Vista and 120GB of storage.

Laptops such as these will be a boon to responders and will immensely improve the portability and efficiency of generating data, reports, and processing information on scene. We look forward to using this new technological development to assist our clients at remote sites.
